One of the most difficult parts about healthy living is figuring what's correct to eat. We're bombarded by the media with reports of what is good for us and what's bad for us - then it all changes a few years later only to contradict what we thought was right. It becomes a chore to keep up with the latest information about good nutrition. We're offering some guidelines here to help you the next time you're at the supermarket questioning what you should or shouldn't buy.
Let's start with some tips to avoid buying the "bad" foods:
Tip #1:  Buy Organic
Foods labeled "organic" simply means that there are no chemical enhancements in the processing of that particular food. Organic Chicken would mean, for example, that no hormones were used to grow the chicken. Organic fruits or vegetables would mean that no pesticides were allowed to be used to enhance that item in any way. Organic means it was grown naturally - without the help of any chemical or process. Always buy organic when you can. This will lead you to optimal health.

Tip #2: Look for "Non-GMO" Labels
GMO stands for Genetically Modified Organisms. Genetically Modified foods is a process of artificially inserting genes into the DNA of food crops or animals.  GMOs can be engineered with genes from bacteria, viruses, insects, animals or even humans.  Companies may voluntarily label products as -non-GMO, but still, today, many do not.  Many grocers have a special section for organic foods. That's where you should be shopping. If you question whether a food is organic or not, ask. If in doubt, don't buy it. Shop at a reliable retailer of Organic products.

Tip #3: Avoid at-risk Ingredients
The most common Genetically Modified (GM) products are Corn, Soy, Canola Oil and Cottonseed Oil - with sugar beets coming soon to the list. If you ingredient label contains any of these, just don't buy it. This will lead you to optimal health.

Tip #4: Buy products listed on this website page!
This is quite a list. If you like, you can copy and paste the good foods list on a notepad on your computer and print it out for convenience - or give us a call and we'll send you one!
